Polishing:
This is a four-stage process where the piece, mounted
on specially
designed jigs
and fixtures, is polished over electric
polishing machines. The polishing
starts from
coarse cutting to final coloring using different kinds of polishing wheels
and
rouges for different stages.
Lustre Coating™
Pieces are cleaned using various solvents.
These are then
put through the Ultrasound Cleaning Machine and Vapor Degreasing Machine.
Visual inspection of pieces is done
to check proper surface preparation.
Lustre coating is done by air assisted spraying of
Lustre Coat Lacquer
in a special dust free room having controlled conditions of temperature
and humidity. Visual inspection
is now done to check on spraying.
Lustre coated pieces are cured in a uniform-temperature
dust free oven at
145-degree Celsius. Final inspection of
lacquered and cured pieces takes
place,
subsequent to
which these are sent for packaging.
Taking Care Of Lustre Coated™ Brass
Lustre Coated™ brass is different from normal Brass
in the sense that it
is coated
with a transparent film, which
prevents contact of polished Brass with
air.
Brass, when in contact with air, which has both
Oxygen and Water, oxidizes
resulting in its tarnishing.
Therefore, taking care of Lustre Coated™
Brass involves
keeping this protective film intact.
